Dog overheating? Adopt the right actions!

When temperatures rise, our dogs quickly suffer from the heat. A heat stroke can be dangerous, especially for short-nosed breeds or older dogs.

First sign to watch for: intense panting, extreme fatigue, red gums, and a dog desperately seeking shade or water.

No panic: start by placing your dog in a cool, shaded area. Offer him fresh water (not ice-cold!), and encourage him to drink slowly.

Equip yourself with a wet cloth to wipe over its legs, belly, and neck: the moist contact helps to dissipate heat.

Avoid walking him during hot hours: it's better to take a walk early in the morning or in the evening🌙. Never leave him in a closed car, even for "just 2 minutes": it's a deadly trap. If your dog isn't getting better, is vomiting, or collapses, consult a veterinarian immediately!

Fun tips: give him access to a cooling mat or improvise a pool with a basin. And why not add some ice cubes to his bowl for playtime? In the summer, adjust his activities and keep an eye on him like a cool coach.

Your mission: to keep him happy AND cool! 🐾🌊💙
