Autumn dangers for cats: be careful when they go outside!

Autumn is beautiful: golden leaves, fresh air, outdoor explorations... But this season also hides some traps for your cat.

The fallen acorns and chestnuts sometimes attract his curiosity, but they are very toxic: ingestion can lead to vomiting, diarrhea, or neurological disorders. The same goes for wild mushrooms: some are deadly with the first bite!

Don't forget about ticks: they hide in tall grass and bushes as soon as the cold arrives, and can transmit serious diseases (like Lyme disease).

How to protect your cat?

If he goes outside, watch what he explores or tries to eat. After each walk or time spent outside, check his paws, ears, and coat for ticks or debris stuck to him.

Some tips: • Distract him with a toy or a treat if he finds something suspicious. • Teach him "no" or "don't touch," if possible. • Use a pipette or a tick collar. • If you notice signs of poisoning (salivation, strange behavior, vomiting), hurry to the veterinarian.

Autumn is fun, but increased vigilance will make every outing safe and enjoyable for your cat! 🍁🐱🍄🦠
